Denny's Orange Blossom Classic | Alabama State vs. NC Central
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – North Carolina Central University (NCCU) began the 2024 football season with a 31-24 win over Alabama State in the Denny's Orange Blossom Classic at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. J'Mari Taylor powered the Eagles' offense, rushing for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries, with an average of 5.3 yards per run, and also catching a touchdown pass.
Orange Blossom Classic Overview
The Orange Blossom Classic is a historic college football game featuring historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Established in 1933, it is one of the oldest and most significant events in HBCU sports, celebrating Black culture, community, and athletic excellence. The game was revived in 2021 after a long hiatus and is held annually over Labor Day Weekend in Miami, Florida.
